Frederick Mack, gemnligen called "Store Mack", own a great glue factory in a fishing village in northern Norway. He is the area's most powerful man. Among his subordinates are telegraphist Ove Rolandsen, a great womanizer, who shamelessly exploit the affection that the priest's housekeeper Marie van Loos devotes him. Rolandsen staying with fisherman Levion, in whose house he was at leisure experimented a glue that is better than store Macks. It is, however, not want the invention.
