The first film co-production of Japan and USSR. Japan is represented by Teinosuke Kinugasa, and Eduard Bocharov represents USSR. The 10-year-old Ken has lost his parents and he is raised by his violinist uncle Nobuyuki. Ken is getting to be a gifted violinist himself, but then Nobuyuki reveals that Ken's father is still alive, but lives in Moscow. The Bolshoi Circus visits Japan, and Ken wants to take this opportunity to go to USSR.
