To fulfill his father's deathbed wish, a businessman moves his extended family from the city to the countryside, and opens a school for po"Tien Luan" is a melodrama following three generations of a family and the attempts of the patriarch to guide his children according to Chinese tradition. Scripted by Chung Shih-Kan and directed by Lo Ming-Yau, "Song of China" is arguably one of the most well-known Chinese silents, and, according to Subway Cinema, one of the only ones to play the U.S. circuit during the 1930's.or children and a sanctuary for childless elders. But his adult children miss urban life and rebel.
