Laughing Gravy (1931) follows the comedic misadventures of Stanley and Oliver as they struggle to conceal their beloved pet dog from their irritable landlord. The landlord, upon discovering the canine, unceremoniously evicts the dog into the snowy outdoors. The duo's efforts to rescue and subsequently hide the dog lead to a series of chaotic and hilarious events. Their predicament takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of a registered letter, revealing that Stanley has inherited a substantial fortune from his affluent uncle. However, there is a significant condition attached: Stanley must sever his friendship with Oliver, whom the uncle dismissively labels as a "nitwit.
