Brindis a Manolete (1948) follows the journey of Rafael, a passionate flamenco dancer with dreams of becoming a bullfighter to win the heart of Dolores. However, Dolores's mother, Doña Rosario, who lost her husband in the bullring, vehemently opposes Rafael's aspirations and instead wants Dolores to marry Javier, a man from their social circle. In retaliation, Rafael seeks solace with Soledad, a gypsy dancer, which provokes Dolores's jealousy and leads her to accept Javier's proposal. Javier extends an invitation to Rafael and Soledad for his engagement party, where Soledad causes a dramatic scene. Later, Rafael is injured in a fight orchestrated by Soledad's jealous lover. This incident prompts Dolores to break off her engagement to Javier and return to Rafael. With the guidance of his idol, the legendary bullfighter Manolete, Rafael's skills rapidly improve, and his fame begins to soar. However, tragedy strikes when Manolete meets his end in a fatal bullfight.
