Originally the song was published on October 29, 1984, but popularity came to it in 3 months. On January 17, 1985, the German TV show "Formel Eins" showed a video recording of the song and on January 21 it started promotion on the German hit parade from the 38th place. The song entered the top ten next week, then reached the first place and held it for six weeks. The song received a gold album in Germany, Belgium, France, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, platinum in Denmark and twice platinum in South Africa. In 1984, a video clip was shot for a song in the studio of the German television company RTL in Luxembourg.
