The story of Mr. Hands, a family man from Seattle who died during one of his sexual escapades with a horse, is the starting point Robinson Devor uses to explore a secret community of zoophiles. Zoo is a radical proposal both for its subject matter as well as its form, as it penetrates the conflictive universe of these individuals through beautiful imagery and exquisite cinematography. Its characters are based on real people who put their voice to it but don’t show their face’s and who are played –all but one, Coyote—by actors: a combination that makes Zoo a curious fictional documentary (info from cinemasitges.com).
