Fringuelli desires very much to go to Paris for having there a good time with his friend. He tells his wife and his mother-in-law that he has to go to Chamonix for business. When he returns, he reads in the newspaper that the train from Chamonix is delayed by a day due to the snow. This means that Fringuelli is forced to hide himself for a day: first in the closet, than in the dog's kennel where he spends the night; but also the next day troubles show no sign of ending...
